چکیده

In the Standard Model (and MSSM), renormalization effects on neutrino mixing are generally very small and the attractive fixed points are at vanishing neutrino mixing. However for multi-higgs extensions of the Standard Model, renormalization effects on neutrino mixing can be large and nontrivial fixed points are possible. Here we examine a simple two-higgs model. For two flavors, maximal mixing is an attractive infrared fixed point. For three flavors, the neutrino mass matrix evolves towards large off-diagonal elements at low energies. The experimentally suggested bimaximal neutrino mixing pattern is one possible attractive infrared fixed point. ∗Email: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]

Large Neutrino Mixing from Renormalization Group Evolution

The renormalization group evolution equation for two neutrino mixing is known to exhibit nontrivial fixed point structure corresponding to maximal mixing at the weak scale. The presence of the fixed point provides a natural explanation of the observed maximal mixing of νμ − ντ if the νμ and ντ are [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected]...

Stable bimaximal neutrino mixing pattern

The data from the various neutrino experiments indicate a bimaximal mixing among three neutrino generations. The atmospheric neutrino puzzle requires a near maximal mixing between a pair of neutrinos [1]. The solar neutrino puzzle has various possible solutions but the large angle MSW solution is favoured [2]. As the mass squared difference required for these two solutions differ by about few o...

We investigate whether radiative corrections can be responsible for the generation of large mixing in a pair of degenerate neutrino with same CP parity. We find that this mechanism is fine tuned and doesn’t work for arbitrary mixing at the high scale. The data from the solar neutrino and the atmospheric neutrino experiments can be explained through flavor oscillations of massive neutrinos. The ...

If neutrinos are to play a relevant cosmological rôle, they must be essentially degenerate with a mass matrix of the bimaximal mixing type. We study this scenario in the MSSM framework, finding that if neutrino masses are produced by a seesaw mechanism, the radiative corrections give rise to mass splittings and mixing angles that can accommodate the atmospheric and the (large angle MSW) solar n...

Large mixing angles for neutrinos from infrared fixed points

Radiative amplification of neutrino mixing angles may explain the large values required by solar and atmospheric neutrino oscillations. Implementation of such mechanism in the Standard Model and many of its extensions (including the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model) to amplify the solar angle, the atmospheric or both requires (at least two) quasi-degenerate neutrino masses, but is not alwa...
